When I visit the forum I usually use the "NEW POSTS" section to find topics that are active and interesting to me.

However, there is always a bunch of posts that are from the "Meet and Greet" section that are just there because people spam Welcome to new folks.
Also when clicking the "Unanswered Threads" link you get all the for sale stuff.

If a person could elect to use the filters and remove a section or topic header or several topic headers. We could narrow down what we want to see.

For instance, I could go to new posts and filter out " Meet & Greet Forum " so I don't get all the welcome threads. Also do the same thing with the Unanswered Threads and remove the entire "
Buy, Sell, Trade Coral, Fish, and Equipment " section.

Perhaps take things a step further and allow users to set up say 2-5 custom Filter searches so they can quickly and easily find topics of interest to them?

This thread isn't about bashing the welcoming of people. I'm only using that as an example of items I don't want to see when looking for new posts.

Hi there! I'll run this idea up the chain, but I do want to mention that we recently did start filtering out all for sale threads from unanswered threads. Those shouldn't be showing up anymore.

Ahh.. cool. I had not noticed as I haven’t looked in a week or so.

This was "ran up the ladder" Unfortunately at this time there is no easy fix or add-on to implement this easily. We will continue to explore ways to make the site better and we greatly appreciate the recommendation!
