Hey,

I switched over from my 20 gallon waterbox to my aio 50.3 pinensula about 2.5 months ago during my holyday. I had to do the switch in my holiday. I didn't have the funds to get great lighting so I bought 2 secondhand AI hydra 26 lights for 230euros. While they do output good color the connection to the app is beyond horrible I needed to reset them multiple times and decided to just don't change anything anymore.. (wifi router is in open sight 3 meters away from the lights)

Rightnow I'm waiting on my tax return and then I'm looking for an improvement.

the aquarium is standing in the middle of the living room ( no wife or gf who can complain so yeah).

the lights are about 9 10 inches above the water. The mounting hardware i'll make myself. I have a 1"x1" aluminium beam that can swivel. so i can easily move all lights out of the way when doing maintenance..

its a mixed reef with anything from xenia to stylopora monipora and euphyllias.

due to the way the hardscape is made i do need atleast 2 points of light.

i'm not planning on growing acros but mostly LPS and easier SPS.

aquarium Dimensions:
50 gallon (200 liters) AIO
90x50x45 cm
display is about 75cm.

The budget is not the problem.. I prefer to have the lighting that fits me best rather than having something that is a few hundred dollars cheaper but just isnt really it..

I do prefer smaller and thinner fixtures. because its in the middle of the livingroom

My light scedule is:
sunrise at 11 mostly blue, gradually gets brighter.
peak from 14 to 18 with more of a white light and then the white channel gradually turns down
at 20 most white is turned of and then the rest turns down slowly
sunset at arround 23.

I dont have or rented a par meter. Rightnow its working but when I get new lights I will rent one. ( will cost me 100 euros)
I don't need a lot of watt's.. the hydra 26 is at peak at 50% on the blues and 30 on whites

I made a few options myself:

Option 1:
2 kessil a360XE
and maybe 2 blades in the future.
I do love some shimmer But is it too much? I don't know..... and thats a problem spending 1200euros on 2 lights..

option 2:
2x AI hydra edge 44HD
is a bit cheaper. but the fixtures are bigger, and I'm 3d printing custom shades for it but i'm thinking it will be bulky. but rightnow I believe this is a good option..

option 3:
3 blades 30inch
2x grow 1 time glow..
I do have a 12inch above another tank and I do like them.. but it isnt full spectrum, is that a problem? but they are nice and thin.

I don't think I will like the radion.
I prefer companies that natively sell from EU stores due to warranty.
Reefi lights are great but i'm paying almost 1500euros for 2 lights ( 21% sales tax that isnt added on the website) for 540watts of led lights that I at most use 15 procent off.... so that isn't an option.
I wont buy chinese knockoffs.

please ask if I forgot to add information:)

Is reef breeder medians an option on that side of the pond? Great lights!
Hmm i looked into them, they are a compelling option. Although I am wondering.. they advice to have the light 14inch above the water. Mine is 9 10 inch..

I'm wondering if that will cause problems.
