Advised requested: Torch revival

3 weeks ago I purchased a torch coral frag from a fellow aquarist. The glue job on the torch was sloppy, and one side, the glue seems to extend up the stem and even above the mouth. On that side, the polyps do not extend, and stay retracted. On the side with "less" glue, the polyps extend. I have 3 other torches in the display that are happy and healthy and have been for some time.

Question: Do I dare try and remove some of the glue on the stem? If so, any advice on how (I heard torches do not like to be removed from water). Or, should I just leave the torch be and hope it grows "out of the glue"?

can't tell much from your photo but I would say leave it. You risk much more serious injury trying to remove glue than you do letting the coral grow out beyond it.
