Aerosol Transmission between QT tank?

Hey R2R!

I was curious to see if I can have a DT and a QT Coral tank in the same room. I am looking to build a DT in my bedroom, and I have no other room in my household to keep a QT tank in.

Currently I have a tank with all my fishes and corals from a 20 G I broke down and I’m looking to set up a 10G DT and utilize a Coral QT, due to a Bryopsis infestation that I lost war with that made me break the tank down.

I was curious, is it possible to Keep them in the same bedroom, as well as How can I go about treating any future Bryopsis, Bubble Algae , etc in my QT tank ?

many biggest fear is allowing any of the algaes or pest into my DT that I’ve worked hard to start up.

Biosecurity is a huge issue for the transmission of fish disease between tanks, but it can also cause issues with pest species. Here is an article I posted on that topic:
