I just mixed my second batch of all for reef in 8 months. Everything is going so well right now so I am kind of nervous. The instructions state to mix until clear. Last time I believe it mixed clearer.

I mixed it all night on a magnetic stirir.
I think i could have added it too fast as it appears cloudy.

Thanks all :)

What amounts did you use? You might need to add more water.

It is just the standard 160g in 900 mL.

Last time I mixed 160g in 1800 mL so that is probably what had me concerned about the cloudyness. I'm not doing that because I read it will allow bacteria to grow easier.
So I also have to cut my dose in half.

Cool, was just trying to read the side of the jug, looked like it was less than 800ml.

If you followed the preparation instructions then you should be good to go. It may not mix clear like the starting RODI water and be somewhat cloudy like your first image showed. I've had some look similar and did not have any issues.

I can't speak for all powder users but as noted above I believe most of us use 160g (I measure using a scale) into 900 ml of RODI water. Let it mix up for 20 or so minutes. Room temp water seems to work well at least in my case.

No that’s the correct way, the finished mix needs to total 1000ml after the powder is added.
900ml of water plus the powder equals apx. 1000ml total volume.

"To prepare the liquid mineral mixture, dissolve 6 level scoops (approx. 160 g) of Tropic Marin® All-For-Reef Powder in approx. 900 ml of reverse osmosis water, resulting in a total of 1 l of dosing solution."

Exactly, we agree.

And isn’t that what 19Mateo83 said as well?

No. He said he tops it up to 1000ml after dissolving in 900ml. It's just 900ml - no need to top up at all.
I will say that topping off likely won't be 100ml over. And again, not likely a big deal even if it was that much over the recommendation.

If it helps, I mix the 160g into 900ml, Once dissolved I top up to exactly 1000ml.

I think what he means is he mixes the powder with an amount of water less then 1000ml and if once the powder has been added it’s still below the 1000ml mark he tops it up to 1000ml…which is exactly how I do it too.

After adding 6 scoops to 900ml of water, it should measure 1000ml. If you have to add water you didnt add enough AFR powder. All that is needed is 900ml.

Yeah I agree, think he probably agrees too, my guess is, and how I do it too is pour “about” 900ml in a 1 litre jug, might be 875ml not exactly 900ml then add the powder then top up if I was lazy and didn’t measure out exactly 900ml the first time around.
