After one year my clowns that have been hosting in a torch coral that I have. I just recently added another torch coral to my tank and now all of the sudden my two clowns are starting to fight. Well one is going after the other and the one that is being attacked is hiding in the back corner of my tank under a rock. This has never happened. They were not a pair when I purchased them taking the chance I knew I was taking but they were all good and got along great and started hosting together in 2 different anemones and a torch that I have and now out of nowhere the one is attacking the other. Should I try to separate them or is this something that will just keep happening? The one being attacked is not looking too good now... any suggestions would be great.

Sometimes they rehash things a 2nd time when the female is maturing, and often this is followed w/ them spawning not too long after.

As long as there is not excessive fin tearing I would ride it out a little more.

Pics always help for advice or to see things we might not get in just comments

The one clown owns the tank as the other one just hides in the corners and when it try’s to swim free the other one fiercely darts at it and they swim to a different corner but typically has been staying in one corner of the tank

I had the same issue with a pair of young Clarkii clowns. They were tiny when I bought them and when they hit about 2” one of them started beating up the other. So much so, that the victim was nearly dead when I found him. I had to put him in a different tank.

Don't see anything obvious in pics, but I would still let it ride out as long as no excessive fin tearing and hopefully both are still eating.
Sometimes it is a little rough going

Yeah I’ll take it day by day. I appreciate the help. I may try a separator and isolate the one that is bullying the other one... have to go back to elementary school tactics lol

Well after about two weeks of it going on the one clown finally died... it looked like they maybe were making a comeback together in the torch coral that I have at one point then the next day they started going at it again
