Would love to know what this is and if it needs to be removed. Never seen it before and haven't added anything to the tank in the last 6 months.

It’s a baby dorvillidae worm. They do this when young and soon settle on the bottom. They’re a cousin to the bristle worm and reef safe detritus sifter

Funny, I just saw one of these in my tank for the first time the other night. Almost two years in and never saw one before. Sounds like they aren't uncommon, though. I feel like I learn something new every day in this hobby!
