I’m running a 21” AquaIllumination Blade Coral Grow over an Innovative Marine Fusion 25 Lagoon and I’m finding the spread isn’t quite enough for the tank’s footprint. A few corals and my anemone that sit off-center are noticeably reaching toward the light.
I want to add a second Blade, but I’m torn between another Grow vs adding a Glow. I definitely need better coverage, but since the tank is still pretty new (~2 months) and I’ve got a bit of GHA starting on the sand, I’m cautious about cranking PAR too hard—especially with mostly softies/LPS and things like mushrooms/sponges that I don’t want to nuke.
How does the Glow compare to the Grow in terms of PAR and color pop, and which pairing makes more sense for this kind of setup? Is par from the Glow negligible and the light is only for aesthetics, or would it be a modest but sufficient bump to meet the livestock’s needs without risking overdoing it with another Grow?
