Here ( https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/diy-floating-recessed-light-fixture-canopy.429498/ ) is my DIY Floating canopy that I am in the middle of doing now. Still haven't made up my mind how I am going to mount the lights inside it. Project for this weekend when I put it up.

Maybe this will give you some ideas. I have a rough blueprint-style design I made that is in the as well.

I also have hydra 26hds, and have a similar schedule as the one pictured above.

Here’s the current setup.

I think you are good. I will upload my setting later and you can tweek them

Nice job on the hood and I can see your concern.

I see what u mean.. and NJ on this. I like the look.... I guess ull just hafta make this a fowlr tank and build a bigger one for ur coral desires. :D

Kidding... theres always the option of raising this hood up for the rimless look and mounting it floating it somehow.. Two 45° cut 2x4's straight out from the corner to grab onto that hood mounting in the back?

Idk man. Follow ur heart! Haha. Good luck

Here are my setting to up load

The tank is deep enough that spread will be fine near the bottom. You might need to max out all blue channels though to get enough PAR near the bottom.

How was 26HD on this tank? I have a 24-24-24 cube as well, and I was worried that one 26HD wouldn't provide enough coverage.. This looks like it's still well let up everywhere. Mine would also be 7-8" off the water.

Coverage isn't an issue, it does quite well. Right now I'm growing Duncans and Zoas on the sand bed.
