Hey! I just set up my tank (IM 20g) and have an AI Nero 3. I know the pump is a lot at even 40%, but when I turned it on at 25% the sand was blowing around way too much, and I can’t seem to dial it in, or tilt it in a way to fix this. If anyone has experience with this, any suggestions would really help! Also, what settings would be good, regards to using constant, random, pulse, and feeding timing wise. I’m planning on only LPS and softies. Thanks

Not the same tank, but I run one in my 11 cube, it’s like 13.5” on all sides.
I run mine about 3-4” under the surface in the back corner, towards the back directly below the return pump outlet.

My schedule is pulse, 0.75msec on and 1.75 seconds off. This makes a bit of a standing wave, side to side. I run it at minimum 1%, max 37%. In the middle of the night for an hour I run 1 second on and off at 55%. Kind of a “storm” mode. This kicks up all the junk and my fleece roller can grab it.

This works great for me, and no sand blowing around at all.

Sorry, I just had another question, should I run constant speed at all, I was searching up some schedules to get an idea of what to do?

I run mine in pulse mode 24/7. I do have it change through the day. I like having the “storm” mode in the middle of the night. It blows all the crud out into the water column and the fleece roller grabs it. My tank has been much cleaner since I started that. Here are my settings below.

What type of sand? I've had terrible luck with small grain sand. Figi pink comes to mind as one i tried and ended up removing. I'm currently running two MP10s in my IM 20 with caribsea aragonite and getting no sand blowing. Ive never had much luck with a single power head. I get much better random flow with less sand blowing using 2 powerheads on lower settings vs one on a higher setting.

I have aragonite, but I think I got it now, thanks!

I think now that I got everything going, I can start a build thread…
However, how do you start one, I haven’t done it before, and I’m not the best on this app
