I am befuddled with a lot of the configurations I see. I have just bought an established biocube reef tank with corals etc. I have not owned a saltwater tank for over 20 years so the new lighting is new to me. Most configs are dark maybe 12 am to 3 pm. And then most I see stay with really low lighting the rest of the time. Like 40%. I tried that, but it was just plain too dark, and maybe half the corals were shrunk. So tonight I went for 100% power for about 6 hours and all my coral came out in full. SO.... is the 6 hour full light blast really bad? I had the blues turned on the highest and red and green lowest, but again, I set it like that just cause. I would like, low blue moonlight for 12am-3pm, and high lights from 7pm-12pm.
