AIO sump plumbing

I was planning on purchasing the Tunze MAR 3181, though looking at the plumbing I was thinking about just adding an DIY sump with refugeium. Main goal is to help with phosphates and nitrates, increase copepods, and help PH.

I'd like to avoid adding a HOB overflow as the tank is an AIO already. Could I add a return pump in the 2nd chamber to pump down to the sump and have another pump in the sump to pump into the 3rd chamber? I would keep the pump already in the third chamber to keep water flowing and avoid detritus build up the the rear chambers.

See any issues with this design? Or do you think itll be best to just install a macro algae reactor?

I could put in some some smart level security outlets to protect the pumps from flooding or running dry.

For the record I wouldn’t use a pump to remove water but idk. Hob overflow might work with the return pump into the 3rd chamber. Do you have a build thread?

Thanks. I like the design of the Pokpo Genesis overflow but cannot find it anywhere.

So i had an im100 and i wanted to add a frag tank on i liked the im look so i bought and im 10 and drilled it

I put 2 holes in the back for drains a reg on a small valve and one for emergency and then just ran the return over the top (wasnt room to get fittings ext in there and ran it off the manifold of my main pump

So essentially what your going to do is 2 drains into a fuge with a small return pump to bring it back up

But in all honesty with it being a nano a fuge isnt really needed and at that point you might as well just sump it
