I really wanna get the mp40 but can I put it in the back wall somehow? I don't want anything on the sides and if I do I can get away with one side but not on both. That would look bad. Is there a way to put it on back wall or can I get away with just one on the right side and then I was gonna change the skinny heads that came with tank to oscillating ones.

Well, brave souls used to do this by making an acrylic box to sit inside the back that went to the top and therefor full of air. It obviously impedes flow a bit too. Seems hecka risky though.

My tank is a IM 50 gall. I guess my next question would be my other option is just a Nero and then let the cord come out and I can then stick it in back of tank right? So then nothing will be on sides of tank only in back. I don't care about price, Only aesthetics if there is a better option?
I've done a lot of research but nothing seems as easy to clean and maintain as MPs

Yes, it won't be very noticible with the black background.

I would go with a nero as the "earmuff" look is terrible imo.

The one think I dislike about the nero is the long cord attached to the motor in the tank that runs all the way to the controller. It makes cleaning a bit of a pain. Rather than dragging the cord out through the cabinet I would clean mine on a stool next to the tank.

EDIT: it would be nice if Ai had put a disconnect closer to the power head.

Could I do a mp on one side and then a Nero on back wall on other side?

Or is it better to just do two Neros on back wall? Are 2 wavemakers necessary? I couldn't get away with 1 mp40 on right side?
Thanks for help

Only other solution is to build and seal chamber in the sump area of the AIO to set the dry side in. I would then add a pump and setup a reverse ATO to pump out if there is a leak. My question is there even enough room in the aio chamber to put the dry side. The sides are not bad as you can run the cord straight to back then down or even straight down. A Nero as others said is also a good choice or even a gyre close to the top instead. Some people even build structures to hide the pump but not cover the flow(blade area) could even put a small false wall in or angle corner just to hide cord but allows for removal when cleaning.

What corals are you planning on keeping? Will it have a sandbed?

Tank length is 30” and 19” front to back.

Honestly an MP40 might be overkill, especially if you are keeping LPS/softies.

Two nero 5s on back wall could work well.

Two gyres on back wall may be too much with only 19” depth. If I did a gyre on that tank it would have to go on a side.

I used a 4K gyre on a 40b before and it was plenty.

Really depends on what you are trying to achieve.

Ok then maybe ill do that and hope its sufficient

I want some flowey torches and I will be having meso or reef flakes sand from Tropic eden. So if I'm ok with spending the money; do you think id be ok with 1 mp40 on right side?
Also, would i need to start with two Nero 5s on back or would you suggest with 1? I was really hoping for no cords in tank for easier clean up and better looks

I think you can use one mp40, but it will have to be turned way down.

Understand not wanting cords in the tank, but the nero cords are pretty thin. You could start with one and add a second later if you went that route.

Torches like a decent amount of non-direct flow.

I dont mind running the mp40 low. Would both the wavemakers be ok for torches? OK so I could get away with one mp40? On right side of tank? Sorry for being a bit confused

Even if you can put an mp40 on that back panel, Assuming that back panel is thin acrylic, mp40 is pretty powerful and it would rattle and ruin or even crack the acrylic.

Nero 3/5 is the way.

But would 1 mp40 be good on the right side of tank and be good and efficient?
