Hi, I’m about to get a Blue Marine 160l and it has a filter sock in chamber one. Ive also got an ATO that will be in my last chamber (return pump)

I’m just a bit concerned that if my sock or floss clogged up, then water level in return section would lower and trigger my ATO and before you know it tank will be overflowing (my worst nightmare)

Obviously I will be keeping on top of changing them but you never know what life throws at you!

Any advice on those with AIO socks or media cups? Is there any level detectors out there that will warn you if water in main DT gets above a certain height or if chamber one fills up?

I maybe worrying about nothing 😂

At 160L (~42 gallons), the variation shouldn't notably impact your salinity. Personally I would lean toward the media cup but there are reasons for each. Good luck with whatever you choose!

Thank you, I was hoping those with AIO tanks could help regarding what they use and if they use an ATO and if so how do they manage it in case sock or floss causing the return section to run low.

It’s a bit different with a main sumped tank as I could always hear when sock needed changed plus it would just overflow into main sump, so not really impacting the ATO and DT volume as much as a rear sump AIO would.
