Hi all,

There are lots of posts on installing an airline directly from outside to the skimmer. Thanks all!

I plan to drill a hole to outside and use carbon in a BRS CO2 scrubber that I have (and got size of replacing media so often) to filter the incoming air. I have a 140 gallon system now with a Red Sea 600 skimmer, but I want to leave myself capacity to add a second bigger tank in the future.

Will a 3/8” ID airline tube be big enough to support 2 tanks in the future? Assuming I get a 250 gallon tank in the future (so a bigger skimmer) and the airline needs to be 40 ft. 30 ft to the carbon filter, then split to each tank.

sure, just t off the line outside
(assuming you’re using a filter of some sort)
and the line coming inside

Why T off outside? I was going to put a 90 outside pointing down to protect from rain and put a bug guard of some kind on it. The airline will go to my water room, and into a CO2 scrubber and I was gonna use carbon in the scrubber to clean the air and make changing it easy.
