AJs Eshopps Mariner 100

yea i can’t afford a 180 but that is the tank i want in a few years. I was so stupid for not getting the 130 because it would have been almost no change in monthly costs and would have given me the look i was going for.

Either way, it’s a great tank and you can start to introduce tangs at 100g. If you want.

Following along! I just purchased the M100, and was thankful to find this thread! How’s the tank progressing!

Any hints or best practices to share with a new M100 owner?
You are going to love your M100. I am a huge @ESHOPPS.INC fan. Sorry about the lack of updates. I get super busy pumping concrete this time of year. I will do a photo drop from last maintenance day.

Overall my M100 is progressing well. I have lost a few coral, typical as I get busy with concrete all summer. I have increased automation this last week, so I can now see everything while im out of town and control my dosers with my phone. Overall I am still in love and my reef gets better every month. I am shocked how much coraline I have. It is covering all of my rockwork and powerheads already. Lucky for me most zoanthids still ❤️ my reef. Might just go full zoa garden at this rate haha. I think we are at about 7 months in the new tank.

P.S. I will fire up my frag system in my shop, within 2 weeks. I might be a lunatic or addicted to tanks I'm not sure. In three weeks I go pick up a reef breakdown that should help me skip the cycle. I think it will hold 180 gallons roughly. Ignore the dust please. We will see, feeling overwhelmed haha.

Thanks for sharing the update! Really glad to see the zoa garden starting to take off, and the coralline growth is impressive for 7 months.
I enjoyed seeing the sump photos too-with me starting a new build, it’s really nice to see all parts of the build!
Sounds like the added automation is going to make things a lot easier while you’re on the road. Looking good -thanks for sharing!

Is it possible to install a filter roller in the M100 sump without significant modifications? I am thinking of getting a M100. I hate cleaning socks and would love the option to put in a filter roller.

I have seen other owners installing rollers. There is a facebook group for Mariners. Lots of people have posted how they modified the m100 sump there. I do not mind the socks at the moment. I also think there may be a different sump in the m100 that people are getting now, mine is an older version I believe.

Thank you. I will look into the mods in FB group.

Small update to my DIY frag tank in the shop. ITS WORKING!!! haha
With help @Arie_Idaho_Reef, I traveled 7 hours and broke down a 150g mixed reef. Just like the display tank I plan on skipping through the cycle. This time with 10 yr old, super healthy reef.
