I have been a fan of cold immersion and, just recently, saltwater aquariums. I recently came across an Aldious Ozone Generator with both an air and water setting. The unit sits outside the water with a tube running to a whetstone placed in the water, immitting ozone on a timer. The guy I saw using it was putting it in a cold water plunge tank for cleaning it, but it made me wonder if it could also be used periodically in an aquarium.

I know this sounds crazy since it is not aquarium equipment sourced, but I thought I'd ask. It sells for 129 on amazon, and I have zero affiliation.

Thoughts?

No, you cannot inject ozone directly into an aquarium, it needs to be carefully controlled and run through a reactor.

Commonly, people use an ORP controller connected to the generator. The ozone gas is then pumped on demand into a foam fractionator / protein skimmer.

It looks like the unit you saw produces 28 grams of ozone a day - that is a large amount. Uncontrolled ozone is toxic to aquarium life.
