Is it possible to turn off the generic R2R site sponsored alerts?

The frequency of those updates (that I'm not interested in) render the feature too much of a nuisance to utilize. I only have a couple threads I'd like to stay up to date on...

Are you referring to the alerts sent out by @revhtree or @mdbannister (the two site admins)?

I don't believe there is any way of disabling those for a specific account, but I have tagged them just in case I am wrong about that.

I don't think he means that alert, but the alerts like "Happy Monday! Update your build thread!" type alerts. I too find those rather annoying, and don't see an option to disable them.
Ok, I thought they were referring to email alerts. We'll wait for Daniel and Rev to chime in, but I don't believe there is a way to disable them as Humblefish stated above.

LOL Sorry you find them annoying. I'm not certain of any way to turn those off, but you shouldn't be seeing those very often. At most, I think they go out 3-4 times a week. :)

That's still a fair bit. With everything else clamoring for our attention, it is very useful to be able to tweak the amount of alerts I get from a platform. Just now we got an email alert from Rev because he sent us all a PM. I can turn those off, but then I can't see when someone is actually starting a conversation with me, rather than sending a message to everyone on the site.

I've uninstalled phone apps that had one alert a week that I couldn't disable. Obviously you're trying to drive engagement to R2R, but constantly being bombarded with alerts to take action will drive some people away.
