Hi everyone, I’ve been having a lot of trouble managing this algae. I’ve done manual removal, water changes, increasing nutrient import, decreasing it. The algae blows off the rocks, but there’s also a dusting on the sand. Might be hard to tell in the light, but it appears brown/grey in white light. I was thinking diatoms for the sand but I’ve been running the tank for over a year now.
TLDR: Any idea what the rock/sand algae is and how to treat it?

Diatoms may appear at times other than just for new tanks.

Do you have a microscope?
A photo under scope might help...
