Usually have to reach into the water with my arm,and a shorter scraper.
I had a long handled one, but the handle broke with not so much h force.

Cerith snails are good at cleaning the bottom of the glass by the sand

We also have this tool that includes a scraper, it does a nice job and has a long reach:

What magnet did you finally go with?
From your post a while back asking about magnets for your half moon?

I bought one of these and love it. Scrapes good, uses plastic cards and the 28 inch one keeps my hand out of the water.

I’d try that standard flipper float
