Algae scrubber questions/ hob conversion?

Hi. I have a 60 g cube. Sump underneath. I just started investigating algae scrubbers. On this tank I do not want to plumb one . I'd like to go HOB on the side of my sump. I'm wondering if anyone has done a diy scrubber from a cheap HOB aquarium filter because I need to be able to hang it on the side of my sump. (Room issues). I've only seen a Chinese box one that's a HOB for about 125$ on sites.. but . If I could make one that would be better. If u have made one please share ur thoughts./procedures?/links , where to get waterproof LEDs? ??? Lol. Or if u have bought the $125 hob from overseas, plz post ur opinions of it. Thank you all.
