It's fairly obvious the lights are problematic straight out the box, app problems, WiFi problems, heatsink problems, fan problems, flickering problems along with all the other problems this light brings.

This is a brand new light that is problematic straight out the box and as soon as you open it up to DIY problem solve the warranty will be void if ever you have the complicated return.

The sellers are very keen to show you all how to DIY this brand new light and you have all done it which the sellers will love because you have just destroyed the warranty. Those who choose to DIY it have just ruined their warranty.

Never heard of such a product that is brand new and doesn't work straight out the box and the sellers are having a great time posting DIY fixes for customers to destroy their warranty and probably the entire product eventually.

i am not concerned about a warranty on a light for $200
Mine worked right out of the box with ZERO issues it was my choice to thermal paste it. Not that I buy corals that are overpriced but plenty of corals cost well over price of this and could die in a week. Now if this light was alot more i probably would run it with no mods so that i could keep the warranty in tack.
I had ZERO app problems, zero wifi problems, zero flickering, zero fan, zero heatsink but like i said i pasted mine because I wanted to.

All of the problems you mention are pretty minimal. Some people have trouble getting their wifi network working properly with the app, but it's usually just a matter of finding the right settings. The heatsink is not a problem. Some people just like to proactively add thermal paste for peace of mind. The fan is slightly noisy to some people, but that's the case for many products. The flickering is a minor, momentary issue when ramping up/down. I don't even see it on mine. None of these are deal breakers, and there is no reason to open the light unless you like tinkering.

Even if some of these issues were significant enough to necessitate voiding the warranty, you can literally buy 5 of these for the cost of one Radion. It's clearly a reasonable choice for many people.

I can second this statement. My second pro max arrived today, and took seconds to connect and setup. I too have added just a little thermal paste… out of personal choice.
The WiFi issue is due to people not having a separate 2.4ghz band.
WiFi password issue is overcome by only having letters and numbers in it.
My fans run quietly.
The app works, you just need to learn how it operates… like most apps.
I am happy to gamble warranty at this price vs’ performance.
EcoTech warranty is just 12 months with a whole load of stipulation clauses attached. To me that is not worth an extra 800 pounds or dollars.

You have just 1 unit which was brand new but you void the warranty.

The sellers are loving buyers like you. All those $200 soon add up. Feel free to send the seller your money for a temporary light.

Can you name a single person who has had to repurchase this light even once, let alone 4 times, due to breaking it? The closest I can think of is one person who bought a replacement control board for $40. But I guess we're all just wasting our money by not spending $1000 on a Radion.:face-with-rolling-eyes:

Never once have I mentioned Radions. The light in question is on the thread title and all the problems are listed within this thread if you can be bothered to check. I can't be bothered because I don't care enough.

I just commented on all the problems it have and the fact that the sellers are offering DIY fixes which will make the warranty void. You are all doing the sellers a great favour so carry on throwing money at them.

Just that and every problem is detailed within this thread. It is a brand new light from a manufacturer that does not even apply thermal paste therefore when buyers are encouraged to perform DIY on a brand new light which is missing essentials must be suspect.

It's fine if the issues people mentioned turn you off of buying this light. But I have no idea why you feel the need to chastise people for making a purchase that they're quite happy with. You're inventing problems for a product you haven't even used. The manufacturer is not encouraging people to disassemble the light. There is no need. Lots of people just plug them in and use them. But some people like tinkering for potential improvement, especially on a product that's cheap enough to justify it. Why is that a problem?

this might have been answered already but to the reefer that was asking about how to get to the fan.. which if these are built similar to the Radions.. the four top holes where you screw in the hanging screws are removable.. they are NOT glued. in.. it takes a specific star or hex cannot remember... get a flashlight and magnifying glass and look closely and you will see. once removed you have access to the fan ect... I have done this a few times to access and clean my Radions fans ect..

Anything I buy direct from China, I buy with the expectation that I have no warranty or return. Always have and always will.

I posted a page or so back on removal. These lights use a PH1 phillips screwdriver and they do have some locktight on them. I took mine apart to show how. It was very tight and took alot of pressure. Maybe they started adding the locktight to the newer lights.

Anything I buy direct from China, I buy with the expectation that I have no warranty or return. Always have and always will.

Same, I would rather buy a $200 light with no warranty then a $1000 light with a 12month warranty from ecotech when. Same with the DMP. I have 4 of them 2 10's and 2 20's and I spent a total of $400 thats less than 1 MP-10. I can buy a new DMP10 for just a few dollars more than an ecotech wetside.

how about the clip like the fan scratching the metal case above it. how did you solve your fan noise

Having issues with 2 of 7 x-30s. Seems to be the mean well power supply. Not all LEDs are firing up, some just dim. When I swap with a different power supply it works perfectly. I ordered one new mean well before the other one gave me issues. I’m going to look into a different power supply. Any suggestions?

hmm wonder if that might be exceeding anything. Does it get more stable if you turned down the power?
I have the Meanwell with mine and have had zero issues. But I am only running like 55w power and I have an A8SE II blue not the XR30 version

Even when I lower the power (now) it’s not lighting up the same amount of diodes. When I run them manually and try to ramp up whites or blues, the other diode will dim. This is 2 of 7 xr-30 blues for me. 2-3 months old. I would expect this to happen to all of them. I’m going to try running one a different power supply. Not sure which one yet lol.
