AliExpress A8SE Reef Light

New to this thread. Have 2 a8se II blue's arriving today from alibaba. Is expecting each panel to cover 28"×28" a reasonable expectation?

I think you'll get a nice coverage with just two. They are pretty powerful. If you need any more than that you could add some blades in the future

Thank you, this is the kind of answer I was looking for. I plan on supplementing with bars regardless.

Is 3 of the a8se ii blue enough for a 5ft tankx2ftx2ft or doi need to add more. I want to maximize par for my sps or do i just buy high intensity lens kits cause the spread so far is too much HAHA

Have you measured your par?

I Actually did if its like 95percent all channels its like 350-400 at the top but i dont want to do that since i want my lights to last

Maybe add another one then or some blades

top of what the water?
How is that possible. I just redid the par in my tank since I upgraded to the bigger one. I was only running the light at 63w and I was getting 600par right ontop of the water. I am running each light now at like 83 watt and getting like 300par 6-8" down

How high above the water are your lights? I'm running mine at 94w 8" above the water and wondering how much par I might be getting. I've been going by coral appearance because a par meter isn't quite in the budget yet, but I've been looking at the VBR-aqua.

They are at like the 7-8” range

Next question. I am trying to set the time schedule. It seems that the times are only set to hole hour times. Im not seeing how to adjust to say 10:15? Is that possible?
thanks
Jeff

I have lowered it already to like 10 11. I saw 8 is the sweetspot for radion xr30

Hanging these over a 7 ft by 2 ft frag tank. What’s your thoughts? Hanging them parallel with the tank or sideways? How far apart? I have three now with a fourth coming any day
Thanks
Jeff

How do you like them so far Jeff? I am thinking of adding two of these over my tank.

When I have mapped par they have a very good 2x2 even coverage just as the radions are known for.

Not run them to really judge. Slight hassle with figuring out the app. Not crazy that the time schedule is hourly only. My old ocean revives were slowly dying one by one so these seemed like a good replacement. Not sure when the tariffs will kick in but I hope to try them out quickly to possibly order several more if I like them before their price more ten doubles
