AliExpress A8SE Reef Light

Going back a few pages, I saw two other people encountered this problem. One person replaced the internal board another just disconnect it from power supply for a few hours.
I was gonna tell you unplug unit for 5 min, delete light on app and reinstall app turn phone off and on. Start fresh

Once all that happens try to hard reset light let me know if light flickers when reset

This is the manual. Not a lot of info :)

To answer my own question above, my lights could not restart last night after loosing connection with the app. I tried unplugging them, tried pushing the middle button for 5 sec, 10 sec, 3x 3 times (something that's written in the manual) but nothing happened. I decided to leave them for two hours and then retried unplugging them and everything worked. My bet is some server in China wasn't working properly :)
I'm having this issue right now. It was working fine all day, after tinkering with the light settings it stops responding to the app and I cannot reset it using the physical button. Perhaps the Chinese server is down again :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

After you adjust lighting schedules are you going to action button and choose close and run app button?

I don't recall exactly what i did after adjusting. I just know when it stopped responding to the app settings, I tried to do the factory reset which worked earlier today but it was not responsive this time.

Anyone replace their fans? All the fans on my three a8pro 2 max make a rubbing sound. Hoping it will go away but in case it doesn’t does anyone know of a good silent replacement fan? Also, what bit to use on the screws? I tried regular Philips but one screw seems to want to strip.

Thanks in advance
I had the same problem with the fan rubbing on the fan screen. I think it was actually my fault. When taking the light out of the box I pushed on the fan screen with my thumb. It's only loosely glued in place. To resolve I used a PH1 Phillips screwdriver to remove the four screws. At first I thought they were glued but they're not. Removing the outer casing I was able to adjust the fan screen and apply small amount of super glue to better hold it in place. In a related post, another four member posted a picture of the screwdriver.

I had purchased another A8 II Pro from Breeze Aqua. Initially the site indicated shipment, but no more tracking info. I notice on the site now it says the light can't be shipped to my address and while the price is normal, the site estimates and additional charge of $500+. Just now, I got an update and the order was cancelled. Guess the tariffs went into affect.

Anyone have any idea how to use the hanging kit they sell with these things?

Powering off for about 3 hours did the trick. I was able to press and hold the power button to reset afterward.

The spread on this light is very good. Using the default AB+ preset, I am able to light my 4ft tank with just 1 light.

Yeah I just looked again, my seller now quotes the light and arm kit for $243 but additional tarrif charge is $17 tax + $428 tarriffs 😂. So I'll be looking at a $700 light.

I wonder if this is the same for Alibaba? I have one I bought as a spare that is on a plane to the US as of yesterday.

Yes, it's the same. I just purchased quite a few things early April. I asked about some lights a few days ago and they said it's too close to the tariff time-line to risk shipping it.

I contacted yzy and they are shipping and assured me there would be no import duty charges. I ordered 2 and am hoping I don’t get screwed. The lights were $195 each plus tax of something like $26. Really not sure how customs would collect unless they would send a bill to my address.

my DMP20 I ordered last week from BreezeAqua looks like it shipped lastnight. So hopefully no BS when it gets here they want anymore money. Cause I am not paying the BS tariff crap

That's who i bought my light from. Last night they showed huge tarriffs amount but today there is nothing. Looking at my order tracking, it came from Hong Kong to Alaska, to KY (that's where I see import scan occurred), then to me. Once it shipped from HK, it got to me very fast but from order date to HK ship date, it was over 10 days. Good luck with your order.

I was going to order another DMP20 from breezeaqua the other day but decided to go through Amazon and not risk huge tarriffs. I ordered the Jebao Mow-9 instead and hooked it up last night. The Mow-9 is also as powerful as my DMP20. I also saw Amazon selling the DMP20 but at a higher price than AliExpress.

who here has par readings from their lights, much better if sps dominated tank thanks

I have ordered 2 A8SE II from them and 2 DMP10 and 2 DMP20 just my one DMP 20 has been making a sound here and there so I wanted to get another and keep the current one as a backup. Hopefully the new one gets here quick. Usually its like 5days to get to me after it ships and it wont get hit with any extra charge

I went to check out last night and it also showed over $700 in additional charges. I contacted them and they responded right away linking me to the light and when I checked out the $700 charge was gone. Hope I didnt waste $400!! The first light I ordered was returned to the seller from ups stating there was flint in the item. The seller reshipped it just the other day so I might have 3 of these stuck at customs wanting tariff charges paid.

I printed two of these reflectors and I just care for the looks of them hanging over my frag tank. My tanks are in the basement so I don’t care about light spillage. They are designed for a radion so you will have to drill a hole in one of them for the power cord. Free just pay my postage. Pic is two of them stacked.
