Alk & Calk Increased Demand

Hello Reefers!

I have a 120G sps/lps tank. My sps just keeps growing. I frag them but the demand of dosing alk & kalk keep increasing.

I’m now dosing 175ml of each with the brs part 2.

it seems I need to dose more and more each week. Is this normal? Will it just keep growing? 200ml? 250ml lol it’s hard to make a batch every week lol

Should I be doing something different or am I dosing for much?

I’d try a ca reactor if i were you. It’ll make life a lot easier and also dose some micronutrients

reefbreeders with the aqua life T5 kit. I just keep everything stable and have the right flow. Stay out of the tank , don’t mess with a lot of stuff and everything grows .

You are going through a gallon of each every 20 days or so. Definitely be cheaper using a calcium reactor.

It will just keep going up, we're dosing 210ml (75g tank) a day right now and it's becoming a pain to keep up with no doubt. The bigger the corals get, the more demand they have.

Youve heard from fans of reactors, but look carefully into them as they have downsides as well (e.g., low pH, hard to control time of day of dosing = slightly less stable alk, etc).

thank you, I have a ton of sps and they are very big now. I’m scared to make a change . My buddy changed and all his sps died.

should I say work my dosing then? I’m making a new batch every 2 weeks . It’s a lot of work.

people say reactor will save me time and money is that true?
