Alk came down like flakes?

I dosed some redsea alk to raise my alk, and then maintain with afr, but for some reason the alk came down in tbe return chamber like flakes the moment it hit the water?

That is magnesium hydroxide precipitation, which is normal when adding high-pH additives. The magnesium hydroxide will redissolve.

Add it slowly to a super high flow area next time so the precipitation will dissolve back into the water

I hight doubt it. It's best to add slowly to a high flow area to prevent precipitation
