Idk the brand but the reading seems right mathematically. The mag being that high and my fish and corals being seemingly happy also makes me think the salinity is good.
I agree that this could be a low salinity issue. I would suggest that you click the link I provided above and make your own calibration fluid, and then make sure your refractometer is calibrated. It's easy to make you own standard solution, practically free, and then you confirm or eliminate a low salinity issue 🙂

Once I get off work I'll retest alk and make sure salinity its reading true as well. Say it is low salinity am I better off doing wc or letting it evap and keeping the ato off?

Not really… my tank looked great at 1.023 but even better once I got it up to 1.026 on a tropic Marin glass hydrometer my dosing went way down also lol.

Ive confirmed it is not low salinity. I made my own fluid and had my lfs test it and it reads 1.026.

A side comment: From my expirience AquaForrest Reef Salt is notoriously low on alkalinity. I just mixed 25kg of it, this is one big box and a bit, and alkalinity is 6.8. (Yes, I checked the checkers.) Exactly the same expirience with that salt at work for last half a year. Sadly this is the salt LFS sells. I just add baking soda and kalkwasser or all for reef later.

Have you looked up for salt batch on the AF website as they ICP test all batches? Obviously it doenst mean it’s mixed consistently but I’ve never had an issue with this salt tbh.
