Definitely not silent as you have the air bubbler. I wouldn’t define it as loud. I only have experience with an Alkatronic and the x10 and I’d say this isn’t any louder as the bubbler is about as loud as the dosing pumps themselves. The testing on the hour definitely makes it more noticeable tho.

Hi, Are you stating that the pump will continuously be turn on for an hour or it will turn on intermittently within the hour for testing? I have google around there is a white unit and black unit. some are sharing the black unit is an older version? probably the white version has already address thi?

The air pump will run for 15 minutes for each test. The black unit is the old version and white unit is the new version. The sound you hear is just like the sound you hear from any aquarium air pump. Not at all loud. And if you keep the unit in an enclosed cabinet, you will hardly hear much.

This device is actually rock solid when dialed in and regularly calibrated (once or twice a month). I am using one currently and I tell you its the best investment in this hobby I’ve made so far. Oh yeah now it also has a mobile app, which is even better since I used to have to use a crappy website to monitor my kH. But the way I see it, the pH probe should be replaced every 6 months or so to ensure accuracy, still probably a lot cheaper than bunch of reagents.

I think in theory this can be a fine method, but overselling its accuracy is, IMO, not the way to introduce a new device.

Here is the one month data to prove the stability. My calcium reactor was automated with aquawiz kha and cra. My target kh is 8.

How does a graph show accuracy? Maybe the problem is you mistake stability for accuracy.

I’d also say that a device that doses to maintain its own measured alk isn’t even showing stability in anything except its reported measurements.

Sorry my mistake. I have been testing my results against Hanna checker and it's only off by .1 so far.

I can accept that. The Hanna checker itself only claims +/- 0.3 dKH, so the potential accuracy is something less than that if you use a Hanna to set it.

The first post of this thread claimed 10x lower uncertainty/accuracy (0.03 dKH) That’s what I was addressing.

The app definitely needs to be improved:
- I have to login almost every time I launch it, so you guys should add a "remember me" option.
- Texts are not wrapped properly (in the calibration section, I cant see the full text due to it being too long)
- Some translations are not too accurate. E.g: "Match Ref water in box to tank to cut calibration" => This is extremely confusing and misleading.
- Charts need to be optimized, right now the axes' dates are repeating themselves.
Overall the app is quite easy to use, but there are rooms for improvement.

I just got it a few weeks ago. it seem like its work well. able to help me to monitor alkalinity swing. Am not gonna debate on the accurate since I am measuring against hobby grade testing kit (hanna). So far so good.
