Russ256 I never compared it to any other test. My LFS uses API and all their tanks are beautiful. They have always given me good advice, they sell products they use the condition and health of their tanks is proof enough for me
well. i cross check all kits. call it a sanity check to make sure kits agree. if something is off. a kit is bad or has a nuance.

just my experience.

but api alk tests are spot on.
 
I have three kits. In honor of this thread I just tried them all.

Hanna- 8.6
RedSea Pro- 8.1 to 8.4- prob right in between
Api- slight yellow after 9 drops, complete yellow after 10
 
Use what you trust. I've used api for years but now I have salifert. Not a lot of difference except for price. Imo
 
I trend my results every day with every test.
I use hanna alk personally
With my trend book I can tell a bad test from a good test down to the PPM.
Yes Randy is it accurate?? Well who would know unless professionally tested.
A trend log will show you :-)
