Alkatronic mode Overdose

Also, a good idea to do monthly manual checks. I find that testers results can drift and low/bad reagents can happen. And whenever, I see weird results like sudden drop or shifts, or the value is too consistent, I always do a manual check.

Thank you, yeah never using auto adjustment again.
Focustronic has lost my future business and I think i may even sell all their equipment and buy an aquawiz and trident np.
I will have to look into xepta as I haven’t heard of it. Do you like it?
I like the Xepta but I’ve not used any others to compare. It does seem to read a bit high. I set it to 9dkh knowing I’m actually getting around 8.6 at least with salifert. I don’t know which one is the real value but I’m fine with either so works ok for me. As far as I know there is no option to set dosing limits though. However if it gets a strange result it will repeat the test again. Then if the second result is still unexpected it will turn off dosing until you manually turn it back on or the result falls back into range with subsequent tests.

I guess the issue is if something happens when it thinks the result is fine when it actually isn’t such as probe drift over time. Although it does remind you to calibrate once a month.

So there is a bug!

And Focustronic customer service is just arrogant and deceitful.

Well if it's related, at least they have admitted or attempted to "fix" the issue. It's just a shame this happened to you personally

I had suspected there was more to the deleted messages and sadly some times from my own experience, we want to tell the consumer there are issues but management wants to deal with those issues there way and can cause delayed outcomes

Hope you tank has bounced back? Do you think you will still use the products to at least auto test? Or are you completely done and just feel hard done by?

Genuinely curious, and once again sorry this happened to you and your lucky you got to the water change when you did!

If anyone wants an alternative, KH Guardian works great for me and uses diy sodium bicarbonate. They admitedly had a bug regarding the year rollover into 2015 and gave everyone a workaround and had a software fix delivered January 1. Its only $400 for automated testing and dosing and you can buy direct from their rep on this forum.
