From what I've read, this shouldn't be an issue combining the two into one and dosing with one head.

Now my question is: I dose 1.5ml of AFR and 80ul of NPBB daily. If I combine them to make a 1 month supply, I would add 45ml of AFR and 2.4ml of NPBB. My dosing pump, Sentia, is able to dose to 0.1ml with 1% accuracy (according to Seachem???). Would I just set it up to dose 1.5ml daily and would that be enough, or should I dose 1.6ml daily, and just run a bit higher on the AFR?

Lastly, would I just be better off not adding the NPBB to the solution and just dose it manually instead? I was just trying to automate as much as I can so when I travel no one has to dose for me.

Also, would it be better to break up the AFR dose a few times throughout the day, vs just putting it all in at lights on like I do now?

Thanks so much!

In my opinion it’s best to keep them separate. If you were to have a sudden need to increase your AFR dosing you would be stuck also increasing the Bacto Balance.

I dose 24 times a day with the use of my controller. Less fluctuation that way, but not essential.

Great point that I didn't think of!

I probably ask around here about mixing dosing every month, because I have used up all my dosing heads. I use both AFR and NPBB but I would not mix them. Not saying you shouldn’t but it wouldn’t work for me.

The main reason is the frequency of adjustment. I keep very stable alkalinity and phosphate. I sometimes I tweak my doses of either one to achieve this. Not having independent adjustments wouldnt work.
