I know its fairly easy to buy and cut acrylic to make an all in one filter but does anyone know if there is a place to buy them pre cut?
Im aware of the fiji cube aio but I'm on a bit of a budget

I have a 20long

I have seen other all in one kits but nothing really much cheaper than the fiji cube ones.. the Fiji cube for 20 long is around $89

I've looked into making my own as well and found the Fijicube ones to be the best value. By the time you buy all the acrylic, glue, etc. and put it all together you end up spending pretty close to what a fijicube kit would cost. I guess if you can find the acrylic cheap enough it would be worth it, but I wasn't able to.

Does it have to be acrylic? Would some black plastic work?

I have a 3.7 pico aio. the panel on the back is plastic. I feel that would be ideal, very cheap easy to work with and easy to remove. I assume I would just have to make sure the plastic I use doesn't leach anything into the water

If you dont need it clear you can use HDPE.
