All my fish have hair algae like poop hanging from rectum.

The poop looks like brown hair algae and they are pooping aloooooot. The stuff he is going to bite just came from his poop. Please help because i dont want to lose these fish

This is a similar parasite to the freshwater ones called “camallanus worms”, they are in both fresh and saltwater. I am not familiar on treatment with them in saltwater, in fresh you use Levamisole. I don’t know what they are officially called in saltwater

I just google this worm your mentioning but its not the same. This looks like hair algae coming out of the butt of the fish . Not tubes

In this picture the clownfish looks to be heading to eat that stringy stuff . Thats what is coming out of his butt. It looks like a hair worm but i took some from the tank and its not moving or anything . Here is a pic

Is this just a clear sign that the fish is eating the hair algae?

did you lapse in feeding last couple days? have seen clowns eat algae when cleaning a spot to lay eggs
this looks like eating like spaghetti ,and not digesting ?

Looks like algae not digested and has passed through intestines giving it filamentous appearance

That is algae from the tank that the clownfish are not digesting well.

The question is, why are they suddenly trying to eat it?

@fishguy242 was getting at this - if the clowns are cleaning rocks in preparation for laying eggs, they might eat algae. If they have not been getting enough of their regular food, they may eat algae.

This is not a huge issue, but there is a slight risk that the algae could cause a blockage.
