I have a 46g Bowfront with mixed corals and a few fish. I have had the Al SolBlues for 1yr. They were on my 30g and have been moved to my 46g since January 2014. I have only 1 unit 10" above the water. I run them from 7am-10pm on a controller. I have noticed my corals are not growing, but maintaining. Does anyone have the experience with this unit and what setting should I be using? I do. to have the means for measuring intensity.
I have not been in this hobby for very long, but getting discouraged fast:help:

Dont be discouraged

A single AI Sol is roughly a 175 watt MH.

You need at least twice that to simulate the natural light coral receive.

I have two over my 75g sps dominant tank and love them corals grow without a problem but coral growth is determined by more than just light. What makes you think it's you light ?

I was really hoping someone would help me with my lighting! I have posted the percentages for lights throughout the day. My tank is 46g Bow.

I had 4 AI Sol Blues on my 125g and I ran them at 98% across the board from 9:30am - 10:00pm for almost 2 years. I just pulled them from the tank and replaced them with different LED's for the very same problem that you are having.

My corals would survive but not grow worth a beans. Eventually several of them began to STN from the base up so I had enough.

Fee free to ask me anything or PM me if needed and I'll be happy to share my experience with you and maybe it will help.

Should I be turning the percentage up? Are they strong enough to bleach or worse, fry my corals? I never know. How much is to much light. I went to the manufactures web site. They will not give settings to consumers. Their suggestion was to join a forum. That should be a red flag right there. But in the mean time. I can't purchase another unit.
