So my skimmer overfloted and sucked in disolved co2 media. Apex turned off my skimmer when ph got to 8.45
Tank turned pure white.

Skimmer was off but was ph was still going up when it reached 8.99 it started going down.

I reacted 1.5hours after the ph alert.

I did a 10gal water change,

ALK was 8.8dkh dropped to is 6.7
CAL was 420 dropped to 365

2days after it happend
ALK is 7.5
CAL 385
Im slowly raising it up

Corals and fish seem to be doing fine.

APEX FOR THE WIN!!!!!

The "glad I didn't balk at the price tag" moment!
Even with the Reef Pi, which is still probably balked at by some people, with the $200 kit from robo tank and a $60 probe from Amazon this would have been caught. My point is, controllers really are worth every penny and there's a range of prices available.

Yeah learning from this i will never run a reef tank without a controller. Glad i invested from the beginning.

Is the tank still cloudy?

This is a redundant question, are you using test kits to test and may I ask which kit you are using?

One suggestion with testing with the hanna test. Make sure the tips are clean of reagent after taking test. Just a suggestion, I have found that, when using new tips and I pipette. I do have better and more consistent test results.

What I am seeing is a big swing in Alk after the water change. I am of the opinion that after a water change the alk should have not drop that much. You Ca will come up as your Alk comes up.

New water was 8.9dkh as it always is when i mix my ESV salt.

Both of my alk & cal dropped like crazy when the tank turned white.

I would have said algae bloom for the opaqueness of water.

I am glad you have a controller and caught the high alk.

I would suggest, If and when you have time. Could you test again please, just to make sure :)
