Almost threw my hermit out

Today I got home from work and after doing my usual tank inspection, I noticed that my Halloween hermit looked like it was ripped out of his shell but I don’t have anything in my tank strong enough to do that, but I got to work to see if I could remove the “corpse” after a few attempts of trying to remove it I almost took the shell out of the tank but decided to leave it in as “decoration” but to my surprise a few minutes later I saw my hermit crab still in its shell which only then reminded me that these guys get bigger and molt and I almost threw him away I’m not sure why but this was actually the first time that I was completely thrown off guard in my short reef keeping experience also as u guys can see I have started the ugly stage

Your tank looks new. Make sure you feed him some fish pellets or Nori or he will crap out. lol

Yea me too just got him about a month ago so I was shocked when I saw the molt thinking he kicked the bucket knowing how hardy they are
