Alve/Goni Garden Placement

Got a nice big batch of Alveapora and Gonis from a sale and want to make 2 gardens in my tank
Here is my tank except the torch on the left has been moved


I want to make 2 gardens, one with alve and one with goni
The Alve is around 110 par and goni is around 200par
Just want thoughts on placement once they get acclimated to my take for 2 weeks

Nothing wrong with that, but they will also let you know if they like those spots, and if not, feel free to move them around.

I would probably do the goni garden in 150 par

You might want to move the rock. It seems to be in a hotspot for the light.

You can do high light but need to acclimate much longer than 2 weeks imo

I keep my gonis at 80-125 par as it spreads and if I go higher they lose color.
Also it depends because they’ll extend if they want more light. And they can REALLY extend so you measure 200 par but if it tries to extend it could be hitting 250-300 par

I think the rock under the power head might be best. I feel like the flow under the power head seems to be the sweet spot for goniopora. It’s that more gentle pull and push zone. Also they really can extend so having one side be by the glass easier to manage warfare

Edit: that’s a really cool rock layout. I bet once colonies grow in , itll look fantastic

All the rock is cemented together in order to get the shapes. So 4 rocks total made of many small rocks glued together.
The 200 par rock can be moved back but not foward and that rock has my gold torch and acan garden.

How about the rock by the glass for the goni garden? It’s like a nice wide flat surface that could fit several gonioporas
Need good space between them, even a golf ball sized skeleton can take up like 6 in radius in polyp

This is the one on the left and was gonna use it for Alveapora
(the torch is not there anymore) Par is 170 at the purple palys less up top and in the bare area in front

Corals look great! I think the Alveopora and goniopora gardens will look great.

It’s tricky to get flow right for them and consider how much they can eventually extend
