I wouldn't add more. Wait until it zeros out, then dose to 2ppm again and note changes.

What test do you use?
Red Sea is best for the elements IME. I use it for my Mg, Ca, and KH and it hits it spot on each time.

salifert Ammonia Profi-Test Kit
I would say it is a faulty kit, potentially the kit is out of date? I had to throw away a bunch of my kits for being out of date.

Just realised that you posted about the added the ammonia 30 minutes ago, ammonia takes a while to measure. I assume this is one your Evo. In which case I would leave it another hour or two and retest ammonia.

post a pic of this false stalled reef

that's not a slight, they're all false stalls. any post on the web about a reef display that can't control ammonia is a false stall. let's see how much surface area can move some ammonia, but then seems to just peter out halfway. pics vs test levels to fix any cycle

that and # of days underwater, which pics sometimes show if there are new growths we can see. if the tank is barren and sterile/need to know how many days underwater

you shouldn't dose 2 pppm ammonia during any cycle, that's a salesman's trick to sell you extra bottle bac/false stalls. all you need is a little ammonia and ten days underwater with a rock stack present/you're cycled.

has this tank been wet ten days

I found this snippet of info from your other post:

"but my cycle in new is tank taking too long"

that almost always, universally, means + 10 days since you started the cycle. people start to feel discouraged by week three when they use 2 ppm ammonia plus a test kit to cycle, vs # of days underwater compared to the ammonia line from any cycling chart. (10 days)

how many days/pics

in no way would it matter in cycling, especially after goosing it with unneeded amounts of ammonia. if this was a seneye post, he'd never have written it/nobody has seneye cycling issues on calibrated and prepped machines.

I have one of these meters misreading on a nine month old perfectly normal reef tank, causing the keeper nearly a year of straight cycle stress though his tank kept huge starfish alive months on end, fancy macroalgae etc.

testless reef tank cycling is far superior to test-based reef tank cycling, unless you want to use seneye. with testless cycling it's possible to arrange forty pages of straight perfect reefs with exact cycle completion dates/zero outliers.

no

that's a waste of cash

why not post a tank pic

and let me know how many days the tank has had water

you're affirming that test kits can be wrong and then continuing on with a stuck cycle/I'll buy more stuff mode

you can see how that's conflicting

in fact

for you to have a nitrite drop at all mean's you're past ten days/see any cycling chart

your cycle isn't stuck now, even if you don't post pics or give the pertinent info

if you add animals into the display, they'll live day to day/that means cycled. nobody tracks nitrite in updated cycling science/you're reading outdated cycling science if you're still testing for nitrite.
