It's my first time having a tank with a sump and filter socks, there are a lot of amphipods in the tank and looks like they enjoy the roller coaster ride to leave the sump, get pushed up by the return pump, then hang out for a while on DT, and one day just jump into the overflow and make the fall to sump again, just to get trapped in the filter sock... Last time there were some may of them that almost had to put all the crap captured by the sock back in the tank to save them. What do you do to avoid mass killing of Amphipods when you clear the filter socks?

Cheers
