Hello all I’ve had this Colorado for a few months and first few months were good until now. I qt’d the nem for 30 days and about the 20 day mark it started to deflate a little bit but looked okay then I figured he would be better off in the display. It planted itself under a rock and doesn’t get much light now but I figured it would move. I’m attaching pictures below any help would be appreciated. It is a very low nutrient tank atm because it is fallow temps are 80-81 salinity 1.025 ph is around 7.5 been trying to slowly get that to raise. Alk is 8.0

I suggest raising nutrients. Even if it's fallow, you can (and should) still be adding food to the tank. For anemones, a nitrate level between 5 - 15 ppm is ideal.

I have been giving reef nutrition around every other day as there is shrimp in the tank also dosing reef sea AB+ and the occasional reef nutrition oyster feast and phytoplankton

get that temp down to at least 79 and assure based on its location, not too much light or water flow. Nem does not look terrible , other than possible stress factors. Mine just started inflating bubbles

In second pic “bubbling up” so that looks ok to me.
What do nitrate and phosphate run at in your system and what flux do they experience from week to week.

Was only at higher temps currently because of running fallow. Second pic was a few weeks after I got it I just included that picture to show the differences. Phosphate does usually flux a little 0.04 to 0.01 nitrate has been really hard to keep up during this fallow even thought I am feeding everyday it is always staying below 5 ppm

If coral in the tank, feed them a Little reef roids every other day. Your po4 will start to climb. Also if you change water weekly, go bi-weekly - that will bring your numbers up and assure youre not getting false readings. . . . Take a water sample to an lfs that does not use Api test s and see what numbers they come up with to compare with yours

But maybe running the higher fallow temp for a shorter fallow period is not helping, maybe destabilizing waters.
I always leave temp same and go the extra days unless in QT.
Nobody likes change…

Honestly I think I went way overboard I’ve been at 80-81 degrees for awhile August 5th would be 76 days. I just really don’t wanna go through having ich again

I believe around 76 days at normal operating temp is thought to be sufficient, but I hear you, fallow is not fun at all.

No question you have done the right thing.
Hope you get rid of that pest.
Quite a dangerous one that ick parasite.
Good luck.

Yeah 76 days at 80-81 is def overkill I just don’t ever wanna pull the fish out again. Qt’ing everything wet no matter what it is now of days my fish hate me cuz of being in the small tank but they will be happy after lol. Hopefully I can get this anem figured out. Thank you
