I added a bubble tip anemone to one of my tanks on Saturday, it’s been consistently moving, so I had the water tested. The pH was 7.5, alk was low and nitrite was slightly elevated. Somewhere between .1 and .5. It’s definitely not happy. My question is would it be best to leave it in there while things stabilize, or should I move it to my other tank, which is over a year old? The water chemistry in its current tank just went out of whack.

A more mature system would be best.

Thanks that’s what I thought. I did move it, but when I put it in my peppermint shrimp drug it off , it was a battle, I had to remove rocks to get the anemone. It’s attached to a rock at the moment, definitely looks rough and I’m hoping it’ll pull through. I have a trap to catch the shrimp, it’s done.

okay, so it was doing fine, now when I got up this morning, it was still inflated, but popped off the rock. When I got home at 2pm, it was shriveled up and off the rocks. After the lights started to ramp up I noticed it reattached and looks like it’s going to open back up. Is this normal?? I’ve never had one do that. The tank gets a water change every two weeks and is technically due tomorrow. Should I hold
Off another week?
