So I purchased my anemone two weeks ago from a petco so unsure what kind it is. I’ve only seen it fully blown up once I feel it’s unhappy. It had stuck to a spot for about two days and has unstuck itself and been on its side since. I need advice please. One picture of it the one day it became large the other is how it’s been. Someone please help tank has been running for a little over a year now but I am still new to the saltwater world.

That’s a long tentacle anemone
You need to dig a hole in the sand to allow it to attach its foot on the bottom of the glass

Just so strange cause when we first brought it home it dug itself into the bottom. But I will give it a try

It need a deep sand bed and not a lot of flow, bright light and good clean stable water. Often it will pick up and move if light not bright enough, too much water movement or too shallow of a sand bed. Mine like at least 4 inch sand bed.

So that may be the problem possibly as I have sand but definitely not 4 inches so any advice for adding in more sand as I do not want to harm my anemone in doing so. What type of anemone do you have?
