Anemone! is it time to pull him?

Hes been in my tank a couple weeks now and i thought he was doing good not great but definitely adjusting and moving in the right direction. Can anyone tell me what im actually looking for as far as when to pull these before they nuke a tank. Im hoping this is just his poop face, i found a small piece of undigested shrimp with a good size anemone poo today aswell so idk. First pic is his current state and 2nd pic is his normal self in my tank

+1 he looks happy and healthy, if it shrivels and its mouth starts expanding I would take it out

He's fine... Maybe when you don't see any tentacles or a gaping mouth means they are in trouble.

Don't feed them big pieces of food as they usually just throw it back up Mysis or brine will do the trick

Or if your lights are good....don't feed them at all.

I think it looks perfectly fine. I actually thought the first picture was the before and when I scolded down I was going to see a really sad nem in the second one.

Alright i feel a lot better now im so used to seeing him like the 2nd pic him closing up and his tentacles being so short and just his general look freaked me out a bit. Thank yall i was gonna yank him lol

Or if your lights are good....don't feed them at all.

There is not a single coral that receives all of its energy from light, and anemones are far from the exception. Corals should be fed, Anemones will definitely do better if they receive food. That can be from clowns one way or another(clowns will sometimes place food in anemones tentacles), direct from you or indirect feeding. They want food

Its a stock biocube 32 led so no they arent great...

32 LED biocube lighting is fine for nems. Also if it's foot lets go thats a bad sign.

Maybe I missed this, but how old is your system? Anemones do weird things sometimes, but they do better in more mature systems.

what are your water parameters?

I have a BTA and it will occasionally hide in this crevice between two of my rocks for a day, the next day he is out and looking good. I don't know why he does it... but I always panic when he does.

BTA's will close up and do that from time to time. However your system looks fairly new. If it is new anemones don't do particularly well in new setups. Keep a eye on the mouth and foot and I would hold off on feeding till you know its doing good. What are your water parameters?

Sorry it took so long to get back to everyone... the tank is 4 months old (i know should of waited). As far as my parameters go i have the api test kit my nitrates were around 10 salinity 1.025 no amm. Temp does fluctuate between 78 and 79.5 as far cal. Mag. & Phos. Idk still waiting on my test kit from amazon (saliferts wasn't a prime deal). These numbers are immediately before my weekly water change. I do have a torch duncan and hammer that are doing GREAT and a pulsing xenia that grows like a weed! This nem is the only thing that i dont feel like is doing great and honestly hes my favorite thing in the tank, nems are one of the main reasons i got into this hobby. Hes been closing up a lot more here lately but his foot is still purple and mouth looks fine he has spit out so brown slime that i assumed was poo. Thanks for all the advice.

What color is the poop? If its brown and stringy it might be expelling zooxanthella

Yup brown and stringy. I was afraid someone was gonna say that he doesnt look great but im not ready to give up just yet. I know folks were asking about water parameters but how much would the trace elements affect him if my salinity temp nitrates and obviously ammonia is good i was told he will be just fine.
