Anemone question

Just got home and found my anemone looking terrible, dead terrible. I was able to get it out, but it did have some tissue fall off and it is now floating around the tank. Not sure what happened to it, looked great 2 days ago. Moving around and eating. This is the same one that came in almost dead a few months ago.
My question is what should I do about the left over anemone stuff floating through the tank? I have heard they can release a "toxin" or some kind. There are no fish in the tank at the moment and they have another 6 six weeks before going back in.

It's a 50 gallon, about 40 gal of water. I think it might have been that the dumb thing moved and was super close to the heater, almost on it. What a bummer it was finally starting to look better and the clowns will miss it when they get back in the tank
