They move until they find a comfortable place. But even then they still can move. Always good to do a separate anemone tank if there space and budget.

Oh I’m well aware of that. The point was more humorous than actual reefkeeping discussion.
I can place a $10 frag and there it lives.
Throw a $50 anemone in and it does what it wants!

Yep he’ll most likely settle in and come out after a few days of adjustment. Wont move for 6 months until you add that Home Wrecker frag it encrusts beautifully and he decides to go sit on it ;)

One of mine decided to use the skeleton of a Frogspawn 1/2 the tank away to split on the other day.

my rock nem, sat in a place facing the back wall so I can't see him, has not moved since I added him almost 7 months ago
new blue bulb nem, right under a rock, and has not moved for over a month
I can still see it, but not where I wanted it

I feel ya! I didn’t want a Nem, but wifey wanted one real bad to see if HER clowns would be hosted in it. I can’t argue with her, can I??
But yeah, I’m waiting to wake up one morning and see that it decided to move in on some coral.

Hmmm, I guess I got really lucky. I placed a RBTA the spot where I wanted it to be on and it stayed there ever since lol! Now, I’m really happy cause my female ocellaris clownfish is finally being hosted by my anemone today (only took about 5 days)! :)

In the continuing saga of buttsholes anemones...

At 2:30am today, my dog wakes me because the alarm on the tank is going off. I go to check on it, and find that the BTA decided to let loose and go free floating in the tank. He ended up stuck in the overflow, with most of his foot creeping through the slats.
I managed to tap the foot with a plastic eyedropper a few times, which convinced him to pull it out of the overflow, and he fell back into the tank. It then latched onto a rock (on the opposite side of the tank where he ORIGINALLY was placed.)
Seems unhurt from the event. We'll see how long he likes his current spot...:rolleyes:
