having used the Hanna Calcium checker exactly as the instructions including using the cleaning cloth and wiping the corvette with the Hanna solution it gave me a reading of 530 I then did a second test and got the almost same result, I have not dosed any calcium from the last water change 1 week previous and the test reading then was 430, I have many SPS coral in my system so I would have thought the test would be lower having not dosed any calcium, for a back up test I used a Salifert calcium kit and after two tests I got a reading of below 300, has anyone else experienced this with the Hanna ??7

The Hanna Calcium checker will give you a high reading if you don't use pure RODI or distilled water.
You also need to be meticulous with your technique of adding exactly 0.10 ml of sample water to the cuvette.
I get great results with the device (as compared to ICP-OES testing many times), but lots of people have trouble with it.
