Angler red growth?

So I got this angler yesterday and today I saw some red string like protrusions on its skin. Anyone know if these are just natural growths or are they parasites? I posted in the diseases forum but they said I should check here too.

Those are natural growths. They secrete or grow small appendages to help camouflage themselves.
 
I would agree with zoa here, But some better pics would help confirm them since there rather blurry.
