Animated GIF for Avatar

I added an animated GIF for my avatar but it does not move until you click it and it goes to the profile window. What did I do wrong?

No, unfortunately gifs dont work as avatars..trust me I've tried ;) :)

Couldn't have been on here I'm afraid.
The current software setup of Xenforo here doesn't allow animation of gifs in avatars.
