I have owned saltwater tanks since I was about 12. Eventually I got bored of that and took a break from that about two years ago. Last September I wanted a new hobby, cars were my first pick but since I'm still a broke high school student that was out of my reach. So I turned back to fish, primarily setting up a planted tank since I knew saltwater was expensive. Well that changed as the month went on and I realized how bored I was going to get after a short amount of time with more freshwater. So I got on some forms and started watching YouTube videos. I immediately fell in love with the hobby after seeing some amazing colors in some sweet looking tanks. My wallet couldn't take but so much torture all at once and I settled with a 40 breeder that I found on craigslist. I picked the tank up on October 18 and had it set up within 4 hours of having it home.

It doesn't look like that much rock but there is a solid 20-25 lbs that came with the tank.

When I got the tank the guy told me he was somewhere in the tank he just didn't know where. I found him at the bottom of the 5 gallon bucket that I transported the rock in.

This was the tank the night I set it up, it was pretty cloudy from the new sand.

The next weekend I got three blue/green chromis.

By the beginning of December I had them in the tank and they were doing great!

A month later I was left with only one chromis and I was battling hair algae and cyano...

By the time mid Feburary came around I had plenty of new coral, a midas blenny, and a pair of perc clowns.

A few months went by before disaster struck and the hotwater tank(in the attic) sprung a leak...

Since they are doing construction and we have to be out of the house for 3 weeks at the minimum I have relocated my tank to a friends house until they are done.

When I went over today I took a few pics of my tank.

Wow, what an adventure thus far. The tank looks good, especially having been moved. Nice work. Welcome to R2R by the way.

Update
Recently I have noticed a bleaching effect in my corals. Since I don't have test kits of my own yet I took a sample to the lfs.
