My oldest babies are 39 days old today! No losses! They are growing fast now.

My newest batch of babies are on day 12 and I was amazed to see one baby this morning that has head stripe and a full body stripe! They are progressing a lot faster than my older babies, as day 12 the older batch didn’t have head stripes. Here is a picture of one of the newer babies just through meta

No I don’t speak Portuguese sorry. I would only be adding about 1-2 litres of water each day to the fry tank from parent tank for the first week, depending on the size of your fry tank. Then do water changes once you have topped up the fry tank to the level you want to run it. I would recommend reading the book Clownfishes by Joyce Wilkerson as a bit of research :)
bought it! thanks!

Any idea what you’re going to do with all the clownfish now that you have mastered raising the fry ?
I will move on the babies as and when I can. I didn’t choose to raise them for a profit, I did it for the experience, and because of this I am willing and able to keep them for as long as it takes to find them homes, and if I don’t find them homes then they stay with me. I do have someone looking for a harem so I think the 1st batch may already be spoken for :)

I never thought they were strictly for profit but in the end the same as any pet . If they keep going at the rate they are you will eventually run out of tanks to house them .
This is amazing that you were able to successfully raise all the fry with little loss .
This has been very nice reading of your success so far . And will continue to read .

Day 42 today! I’m so pleased with my 1st batch. They are really starting to look like proper little Clowns, black outlines are getting more prominent and the larger individuals are 1cm nose to tail.
They had their 1st taste of frozen copepods today and loved it :)

2nd hatch coming on well too, most came through meta with 1st head stripe on day 12, they are day 15 now and most of them have full mid body stripes as well! Developing a lot quicker than the 1st batch. I will be moving them to grow out around day 25, and upgrading the first hatch to a HOB filter which will signal a chance for me to take a break, sit back and watch them grow as I will finally be able to stop the water changes every two days. They do have a sponge filter, and they probably don’t need as frequent water changes as I give them but I hate seeing a dirty tank bottom!

The 1st batch: OG Kel’s Clowns:

Exciting news! I got a pair of Spotcinctus Clowns back in April last year, the female has gorgeous Pearl Eye, and the male has beautiful white markings, I will attach a picture. Anyway, I started them in a 10g while they were small, but within a couple of months had to move them into the big tank, they eat so much and grew very quickly. They are constantly pretending they have never been fed and begging for food!

At 6:20pm last night they laid their first lot of eggs and it was my birthday as well, I was so excited! As it’s their first go, I won’t be raising any fry but I will look at giving it a go in late spring. These will be some gorgeous babies!!

Now only one pair of Clowns that haven’t spawned yet, I think we might be on a roll this year though.

Hey everyone, it’s been a while since my last update but the first batch of babies are really putting on some size now!
Here is a screen grab from a video I took last night, they are 60 days old today. Now eating a mix of TDO extra small, frozen copepods, fish eggs and lobster eggs:

The second batch are all through meta and are now 29 days post hatch.
Another lovely mix of markings but a higher incidence of full bars this time!
